The scholarship has a flat $30 amount allocated for transportation and $30 for meals (one-day assembly) or $50 (two-day assembly). The hotel costs are paid directly by R2. Only three (3) intergroups can receive scholarship funding & preference is given to those intergroups that haven’t participated in the previous two (2) assemblies. The stipend is paid to the RR directly.
The calculation of the funding amount is based on an intergroup’s mileage (45 cents/mile) from the assembly and is limited to no more than $450 for a primary RR. The RR is responsible for handling hotel, meal and transportation charges. The IFAP check is made out to the intergroup who then reimburses the RR. An intergroup can obtain IFAP money for a second representative (50%). There’s no limit to how many intergroups can receive IFAP funding.
Both types of assistance require that the intergroup pay the assembly registration fee and the RR attend all business sessions. I hope this helps. If you have more specific questions, please feel free to contact me directly.
