What is an Assembly?
Assemblies - Conducting the Business of OA in our Region
Assemblies are key gatherings where Overeaters Anonymous (OA) members come together to conduct the business of OA. These meetings are held twice a year. The full participation of all intergroups ensures a strong and effective region. Regional assemblies provide a platform for each intergroup's group conscience to be heard. Each intergroup is eligible to send one representative for every 10 meeting groups (or fraction thereof). Representatives actively participate in Region 2’s business by making motions and voting on important decisions. All OA members are encouraged to attend regional assemblies. Visitors may join discussions with the assembly's consent, but they are not permitted to make motions or vote. The members of the Region 2 Assembly include the Region 2 Board, Region Representatives (RRs) from participating Region 2 Intergroups, and representatives from any OA group unaffiliated with an intergroup (Unaffiliated Groups) within Region 2, which covers California, Hawaii, Mexico, and Northern Nevada. |
